Known as Casa Brás de Oliveira, it was originally designed by Portuguese architects Nuno Portas and Nuno Teotónio Pereira.
This house is an absolutely unique piece of architecture, characterized by its hexagonal layout that develops into a singular volumetric gesture sitting seamlessly on the topography. It was developed during the peak of Portuguese modernist architecture.
Through delicate and surgical interventions, our strategy focuses on minimising any impact on the house’s original concept.
We carefully planned internal reorganisations to allow for more fluid connections between interior and exterior areas as well as a roof with complementary uses integrated into the landscape. The original materials – concrete and wood – are preserved in the detailing.
