Studio JV, an international architecture firm with offices in Portugal and the Netherlands, is expanding into Brazil. The company’s new office, led by Portuguese architect João Vieira, will be located at the Rio Mar business complex in Recife’s Southern Area, with its official opening set for August 19.
With a multicultural team and over 80 active projects, Studio JV stands out for its commitment to sustainability and to efficient use of materials and space. In Portugal, the firm is engaged in residential projects of diverse scales spanning from Algarve to Porto. In Brazil, the studio is overseeing projects across Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.

Among Studio JV’s notable projects are the expansion of the Kōzōwood Industries factory in Esposende, Portugal, and the Lumare building in Vilamoura, Portugal, recently launched by Fercopor, the real estate developer of the Ferreira da Costa family.
Prior to founding Studio JV, João Vieira lived and worked in cities like New York, Copenhagen, Oslo, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Berlin, Lisbon and São Paulo. In Pernambuco, as the director of Architects Office in São Paulo, he was responsible for significant developments such as the Essenza, Unique and Bossa for Rio Ave, the Costa de Guadalupe project for JCPM, and the Carpina masterplan for Grupo Petribu, among others.
Our team in Recife is led by architect Liliane Dantas, who previously worked with Rio Ave, where she oversaw large-scale hotel projects and was responsible for the implementation and delivery of renowned hotel brands in the city.
